On 30 May, Hi-Touch Imaging Technologies entered the mainland China market with its new 630PL/PS and 640DL digital photo printers, built around dye-sublimation technology and honoured with the PMA 2002 Innovative Digital Product Award. General Manager Chang Fu-sheng noted that HiTi was the only Chinese-affiliated manufacturer to win the award, often called the 'Oscars' of the photo industry. Digital imaging had by then grown into a market worth tens of billions worldwide.
