The Shanghai maglev demonstration line, the world's first commercially operated line of its kind, drew strong public interest from the start of construction in March 2001. With dual-track operation debuting during the National Day holiday, capacity doubled. To help visitors take home the experience, Shanghai Maglev Transportation Development Co. and HiTi created personalised souvenir tickets.
